We’re excited to spotlight Alina Hodkinson, is a Toronto-based mom of 2 and lifestyle blogger, who finds fulfillment through writing. Writing about motherhood, womanhood, and everyday life, Alina has found writing to be so fulfilling. Read on for insights into her adventurous world and how she stays on the go with her two little ones.
Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your family?
We are a fun and adventurous family of four who love to get outdoors and do things either just around the neighbourhood or around the town! I have a newborn baby girl as well as a rambunctious 5-year-old boy who just loves to be active. I am currently on maternity leave but still trying to pursue my passions of writing and content creating while spending my time at home with my daughter. My husband works for a large grocery chain and we spend most of our time (especially now that the warmer weather is here) outdoors and all around.
Walk us through a typical day in your life. I don't know about you, but I'm always asking my friends what they're reading, what they feed their kids for breakfast, and how they get everything done!
Although I am currently off work, our mornings are quite hectic! Until school is out in a few short months, we wake up in the morning and are go, go, go trying to get my older son ready for school. I’ve been blessed with a great sleeper (knock on wood) so although we’re running around, we’re all well rested! Between making lunch for my son, getting his breakfast ready, feeding my daughter – the morning goes by in a blink of an eye. My daughter and I spend the rest of the day together, between her naps and feeds we try to get outdoors for a walk weather permitting and spend the day playing. The day goes by so quickly and then we head over to my son’s school (in walking distance) to pick him up! The evening goes by just as quick getting everything ready for the next day, but we have great days and anxiously wait for the weekend to come for dad to be off work and for us to have some real fun!
What are you passionate about? What gets you excited every day?
My biggest passion in life other than being the best mom to my kids is writing. I currently create content on my Instagram as well as write for my online blog and it’s so fulfilling for me. I love to write about motherhood, womanhood and just everyday life. It’s been a really good outlet for me, and I just love doing it!
What is your favorite part of being a parent?
My favorite part of being a parent has to be the teaching aspect of it. Seeing my children learn new things day after day is just incredible to witness. My youngest is 3 months now and seeing the difference between her first day home and her now? It’s just an insane transformation and I can’t believe I get to watch her unfold as a little human before my eyes. Motherhood can feel like an up and down rollercoaster sometimes but it can also be a lot of fun.
Why do you love the Colugo Complete?
